Take Possession

And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the rules that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you. Deuteronomy 4:1

I wonder how much we miss because we fail to take possession of what God desires to give us.  Reading through the Old Testament again, over and over I am reminded God provides and delivers but the Israelites had to take possession of that which God gave them and show up to overcome that which He delivered into their hands.  “For the LORD has driven out before you great and strong nations. And as for you, no man has been able to stand before you to this day.  One man of you puts to flight a thousand, since it is the LORD your God who fights for you, just as he promised you.”  Joshua 23:9-10.  What does God desire to give you that you have failed to take possession of? What does God desire to deliver into your hands that you have not showed up to experience the victory? Keep your eyes, ears and heart open to all that God wants to give you for your possession.  All His promises are a great place to start.

Blessings, Diane
