Worth What?

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. – Luke 12:7 (NLT)

I think one of the greatest attacks the enemy uses against women is to make them question their self-worth or identity in Christ. We are led to believe that we are not enough, or not worthy of God’s love. As sinners, it’s true that we don’t “deserve” God’s love, but He gives it freely and He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die for us. Still, many women believe that they are worthless… especially if they’re going through trials in life. They hear the lie, they think about it, they dwell on it, and then – often – they believe it.

We also sometimes tend to believe our feelings more than the truth. We tell ourselves that trusting in feelings is bad, and we may also tell others the same thing. However, I think that it’s something most, if not all, women do at some point, to some degree. We dwell on what we feel… but today, let’s dwell on what we know to be true.

Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you… – Isaiah 43:4

… [You] are fearfully and wonderfully made… – Psalm 139:14

…We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. – Romans 8:37

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace. – Ephesians 1:7

He will never leave you or forsake you.Hebrews 13:5

When you are weary and burdened, He will give you rest.Matthew 11:28

[We] are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. – Ephesians 2:10

These are just a few of the many verses of TRUTH. We are not defined by our past, our mistakes, or insecurities, or our shortcomings. It is the Lord God who defines us, and we are HIS precious daughters. And here is a mind-blowingly great truth that I think wraps up all of these verses – and this Victory Call – perfectly: YOU are greatly loved by God (Romans 1:7, Ephesians 2:4, Colossians 3:12, 1 Thessalonians 1:4).
