Attitude Problems!

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.  Eph. 4:31-32

I really enjoy watching HGTV, especially the show, Fixer Upper. Johanna is always saying to her kids; “You be sweet”. This couple loves the Lord and I’m guessing it’s her way of teaching the little ones the biblical principal of being kind. As much as they joke around a lot, she is very respectful of her husband and it shows. She builds up and so does he. If you’re a fan of the show you know how much he loves “Demo Day!” But you’ll find the only thing getting demo’d is the Fixer Upper they’re working on. Never one another. Instead, you’ll see a lot of building up instead of tearing down where people are concerned. What a great inspiration, reminder and godly example to follow. Yeah, there are still some good things on TV; as few as they may be, their light shines brightly.

I’d like to be more like that. When my pastor was teaching on this scripture he said some things that encouraged me greatly: “It’s a lot easier to love people than to hate them. Practice forgiveness and you won’t be bitter. Remember what grieves the Holy Spirit that lives in you. It’s not about trying harder, it’s about submitting more.”

Thankful for HIM
