Not Forgotten

“Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.” Psalm 84:3

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.” Matthew 10:29

I am amazed sometimes when I think about how many people are in the world, going about their daily business and life, so far removed and disconnected from mine.  I go places and I think… God knows all about the lives of each of these and I sit back in wonder at how that is possible.

Do you ever feel lost in a sea of people, circumstances or events? Take heed, God sees (Gen 16:13) and God knows (Psalm 139:1-10) all about you.  I know I can feel lost at times, and then I reflect on His Word and am reminded that I am never forgotten by God no matter how small or invisible I may feel at the time.

I am writing this sitting overlooking the vast Atlantic Ocean and watching three tiny little birds frolicking in the sand and the water.  I am not very familiar with types of birds, but that isn`t important.  What struck me is that just like they are three tiny little creatures in contrast to a big vast ocean – I am a small creature in this big vast world.  However, just like them I am known and not forgotten by God.  He sees them and He sees me!  Today I will rest in that and I hope you will too.

“Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:31
